"Voltaire - Portable Philosophical Dictionary, And Treatise On Tolerance In Original Edition"
VOLTAIRE (François-Marie Arouet) - Portable philosophical dictionary. Follow-up to Treaty on Tolerance. London, se, 1763; in-8, IV (table), 344 pp., IV (table), 183 pp., period full marbled calf binding, spine with nerves decorated with flowers, edges painted red. The Philosophical Dictionary appeared without a publisher with the place of publication in London. It is actually printed in Geneva by Cramer. It is the same for the Treaty of tolerance on the occasion of the death of Jean Calas, still printed by Cramer but in 1763, without place or publisher. This binding in very good condition therefore contains two major texts by Voltaire in the first edition.
