Les lavandières Signed and dated lower left St. Martin 1816 Oil on oak panel, 23 x 33 cm PROVENANCE - Loudmer study, July 1, 1968, lot n ° 58; - Private collection to date. BIBLIOGRAPHY - G. SCHUR "The small masters of painting, value of tomorrow", volume I, page 46. Alexandre Pau de Saint-Martin had as masters JB Leprince and Joseph Vernet. From 1791 to 1848, he exhibited at the Paris Salon: from 1791 to 1812, under the name of Saint-Martin and from 1816 to 1848, under that of Pau de Saint-Martin. His work is considerable and includes views of many provinces of France, Switzerland, and particularly Normandy.
