After having exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris of which he became a member, he then exhibited at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts and then at that of the Tuileries. Often dealing with opera, ballet or circus subjects, he established himself as a painter of women, of Parisian life, of the world of dance and theater. His shimmering painting is one of the most beautiful expressions of post-impressionism.
