Yves Diey (1892-1984) was part of the post-impressionist school, member of the Salon des Artistes Français, he obtained, among other things, a gold medal in Brussels in 1942. These favorite subjects are Spanish genre scenes. The canvas is signed lower right; there is a plaque with his name on the very pretty carved wooden frame.
