Pierre Dumont is a French painter from the Rouen school. Dumont, under the supervision of Philippe Zacharie, studied at the Lycée Corneille with Robert Antoine Pinchon and Marcel Duchamp. He would like to become a successful artist by overcoming the opposition of his father. At 22, the artist had his first personal exhibition at the Legrip Gallery, where his strong temperament as a colorist was confirmed. Dissatisfied with the contemporary Parisian art scene, Dumont took charge of creating a parallel show and brought together the XXX Group. Initially, the artist was one of the most active members of the Société des Artistes de Rouen. A versatile artist, Dumont painted still lifes, landscapes, cityscapes and portraits of mostly well-known current artists. He exhibited with artists such as Picabia, Léger, Dufy, Duchamp, Villon, Guilbert, Louvrier, Luce, Utrillo and Vlaminck.
