He made his debut at the Salon de la Libre Esthetique in Brussels in 1904 and participated in the Salon des Indépendants from 1905, where his works are always noticed.
He also exhibits at the Salon d 'Automne, at the Societé Nationale des Beaux-Arts and des Tuileries. Venerator of Renoir's painting, Ottmann, a delicate colourist with an expression full of sensitivity, was long ignored by collectors, but has recently been rediscovered and widely appreciated.
After gaining notoriety he purifies his style and simplifies drawing and color. He was a notable painter of still lifes, female figures and expressed himself wonderfully in the nudes.
The painting is in good condition.
