His pictorial path is determined by three fundamental phases: at the beginning, from about 1920 to 1930, the subjects are taken from the adolescent world (La Communiante, Triomphe de la virginité, La jeunesse passe); this phase is called "neoprimitive", the following decade is called "romantic" because it is characterized by female figures: bathers, brides, mothers and rural characters. The third phase, from 1940 to 1950 is the era of the "family" (La famille du planteur, Ma trisaïeule et l'èvêque de Ponce, Mon ancêtre Kerventot). In the last few years of activity, he takes up the themes addressed in previous periods and reiterates them, developing them in different variations.
The painting is in very good condition.
