"Eighteenth Blood Drawing : "the Marquise""
18th century French school: “Une marquise”, red chalk drawing heightened with white on laid paper 34 X 19 cm, Louis XV period, mounted in by a Marie-louise by hand in a Louis XVI gilded frame 44 X 37 cm . This lovely red color, with great delicacy of line, portrays a charming lady in a languid pose. The delicacy of the line is accentuated by light highlights of white stone which reveal the lights. The paper has been de-acidified and skinned by a professional and a neutral pH cardboard has been inserted between the original background and the paper. Comes from the Toulouse area and could correspond to an artist from there. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or phone.
