At the end of the Second World War he was in Paris where he studied sculpture in Charles Despiau's Atelier. Later he moved to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and, interested in architecture, he studied the teaching practiced at the Bauhaus.
He also attends the Académie de la Grande-Chaumière where he receives advice from Jean Aujame, Edouard Mac-Avoy and Michel Kikoine.
He exhibits at the main Paris Salons and is a member of the Salon d 'Automne. In 1975 he received a medal from the city of Paris, in 1981 a gold medal in Rome and in 1982 another in Venice.
Henri Mauduit is the author of the capitals of the Saint-Pierre church in Neuilly, the stained glass windows in the Grambois chapel, and numerous ceramic wall panels, as well as decorations for the halls of the French post office.
In recent years, his artistic vein led him to abandon figurative painting to devote himself to the abstract.
