Beautiful luminous work by Camille Pissarro's son, Paul-Emile PISSARRO, which represents a view of Suisse Normande animated by characters. Straddling Calvados and L'Orne, the Suisse Normande located in Normandy has always been a source of inspiration for the artist.
Last son of Camille Pissarro, he naturally became his pupil and followed him during his travels in the Paris region and in Normandy. He developed a predisposition to painting at a very young age. When his father died in 1903, he reluctantly abandoned painting to ensure his existence.
He returns to live with his mother near Giverny where his godfather Claude Monet lives. The latter then becomes his surrogate father and especially his tutor. He teaches him his art and encourages him. Around 1935, Raoul Dufy took him to Calvados, he decided to settle in Clécy, which he will never leave. Paul-Emile Pissarro exhibits at the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries.
He is known for his neo-impressionist painting, marked by reflections on the water and offering a beautiful perspective.
