Son of Paul Gavarni, he was a student of Fromentin. He appeared at the Paris Salon from 1870, obtaining a third class medal in 1874, then he was a member of the Society of French Artists since 1883. He is quoted as: Femme lying; Marriage to the Madeleine; A game of croquet; Appointment ; Diplomatic dinner; The Tribune of a merry-go-round.
