SET OF 2 BERGERES & 2 ARMCHAIRS FROM THE EMPIRE PERIOD
FROM THE PALACE OF FONTAINEBLEAU
The set consists in two bergeres and two armchairs in natural wood, the front feet known as "Jacob", heads of armrests in volutes, posterior feet saber, flat top, convex frontage.
Woodwork in very good condition, strapping and padding redone and covered in silk and orange silk velvet, with removable cushions for the armchairs.
Empire period.
Trace of stamp.
FON fire marks with the arms of France (three crowned fleur-de-lis) from the Restoration period, black stenciled marks F12246 and double F 4242 corresponding to the inventory of August 10, 1856 made under Napoleon III for the Palace of Fontainebleau; another black stencil mark F1226 repeated on a handwritten label 1226 corresponding to an earlier inventory still at Fontainebleau. The last mark with the red stencil F1808 must correspond to an inventory carried out under Louis XVIII.
