Sculpture representing the "banjo" player in painted metal by the French sculptor Emile-Coriolan Guillemin, signed on the left. In perfect condition. Private collection. Beginning of the 20th century. Dimensions: h. 41 cm x l. 34 cm. Born October 16, 1841 in Paris, Emile-Corilan Guillemin studied with his father, Emile Marie Auguste Guillemin, and with the sculptor Jules Salmson before making his debut at the Salon in 1870. He became known as a sculptor of busts, statues and groups . He received an honorable mention in 1897. Emile-Coriolan Guillemin died in Paris on December 26, 1907.
