Cachet Atelier Alexandre Jacob on the back.
A pupil of Eugène Claude, he specializes as his teacher in the representation of flowers and still lifes, but also paints snowy landscapes, views of the Seine in the clear spring light and the surroundings of Paris. His strong sensitivity to nature allows him to perfectly express his impressions with the changing seasons and the light, from dawn to dusk. From 1899 he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he became a partner in 1902; in 1908 he received an honorable mention; in 1914 the gold medal out of competition; in 1937 he obtained the gold medal at the International Exhibition. He also exhibits at the Salon d ’Hiver, at the Salon des Acquarellistes and in several private galleries.
The painting is in very good condition.
