Rare large portrait of an American Indian chief created in 1930 by a representative of the genaration of missing Austrian artists of Jewish origin, whose fate after the start of the terrible Nazi era is unknown to researchers. It is from the Dictionary of Austrian Artists that Steffi (Stefanie) Ventura, Austrian painter of portraits and still lifes, was born in Vienna in 1891. She studied by Felix Albrecht Harta and was a frequent exhibitor in Vienna (1927, 1934) and at the Parisian Salon der Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
Inscription: signed S. Ventura and dated 1930, lower left
