Wonderful sleeping putto depicted in a landscape and oil painting on canvas. Beautiful golden and carved Bolognese "lip" frame. Work attributable to the Bolognese painter Marcantonio Franceschini (Bologna, 1648-1729). Son of Giacomo Franceschini and Giulia Maffei, at the age of 17, Marcantonio began his artistic apprenticeship, first with the painter Giovanni Maria Galli, known as Bibiena, then, on his death in 1668, in the studio of Carlo Cignani .
