"Persian Carpet From Sennebaf Tribe Circa 1950"
Entirely knotted by hand, pure wool, vegetable dyes, size: 1.93mX1.24m. In the western part of Iran is the province of Kurdistan. Its capital is now called Sanandaj, but in the field of carpets, we continue to use its old name: Senneh. Across the province, the Kurdish population weaves strong and resistant carpets with rich patterns. Senneh city rugs offer elegance with fine workmanship and stunning colors and decors. The carpet is dominated by dark red and blue tones. Weavers use a single weft yarn, which gives the rug a typical spotty backing. Senneh kilims are also made in this region, which are said to be the best Kelims in all of Iran.
