Beautiful fireplace insert from the Napoleon III period, late 19th century, representing the Sciences. Greek goddess covering the terrestrial globe with her veil, sundial, astronomical telescope, protractor and relying on the books of culture. Pretty finely chiseled bronzes, white Carrara marble, movement with Fresney à Metz stamp. The set is matched with a pair of candelabra with 3 branches, marble and bronzes. All in good condition, revised movement. Height of the clock 66 cm, width 52 cm, depth 21 cm. Height of candelabra 61 cm x 18 cm at the base. The clock weighs 28.6 kg.
