"18th Century Blackened Wood Cabinet"
Eighteenth century blackened wood cabinet and burl walnut marquetry veneer with wavy molding decorations. The upper body consists of a central leaf decorated with burl walnut marquetry with inlays of flowers and green horn foliage. The center door is made up of two twisted columns, surrounded by thirteen visible drawers with their keyholes. The door reveals a niche made up of a perspective adorned, at the bottom, with an architectural portico flanked by glazes and twisted columns. On the ground, of this small theater a marquetry in perspective enhanced by geometric decorations. The niche also discovers three secret drawers. The base also from the 18th century, consists of a belt drawer, the crosspieces of which are decorated with scrolled aprons. This beautiful and very decorative cabinet rests on a base composed of eight twisted columns ending in ball-shaped feet. Restorations of use and maintenance, good period facade, for certainly reasons of use all the interior of drawers were replaced in the 19th century as well as the locks.
