"Set Of 8 Caned Chaies From The XVIIIth In Beech"
Superb set of 8 caned chairs from the 18th century in beech. The series is composed of 6 chairs + 2 very slightly diferent, the only notable difference is made on the fretwork of the facade, everything else is the same whether it is in the dimensions or the sculpture. The 2 different chairs are stamped by Boucault Master Cabinetmaker in 1728 and it is very likely that all 8 chairs come from the same workshop. The chairs rest on an arched base linked to their vase by an X-shaped crotch. The front rails are molded and finely carved with flower and foliage patterns. The backs are scalloped and carved at the top of the same patterns as the crosses. All the caning has been redone and is in perfect condition. High quality work in excellent original condition, solild and comfortable.
