Exceptional large Louis XVI style chandelier in gilded and patinated bronze. An ovoid body in bronze with a green-brown patina supports 12 sconces in acanthus leaves, the base being adorned with female mascarons and flower garlands. Terminal button in open pomegranate and long leaves of water. The central shaft twisted at its base bears a well-chiseled bouquet and a large trimmings stem ending in a Louis XVI knot. Superb quality of carving and gilding. Our chandelier is signed by the Parisian bronzier V Lescurieux. Creation in the style of Alferd Beurdeley or Henry Dasson after a model by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843). The electricity has been redone recently. Period late nineteenth around 1880.
