This engraved cassowary bone dagger comes from the Abelam region and dates from the beginning of the 20th century. Weapon of war initially, this one was converted into a lime spatula in its second life since one can notice the alteration of the color at the tip of the object which was soaked in lime and then worn on the tongue of its owner. Old and beautiful patina of use.
