Beautiful and important gilt bronze clock representing Madame de Sevigné in her correspondence. The dial decorated in the form of a writing case, letters and an inkwell. An elegant base carved with flowers and fruits as well as large volutes and acanthus leaves completes the decor. Bronze with two original golds. Charles X period clock, first half of the 19th century, circa 1830. Needles and balance are missing. Dimensions: l.38 cm x h.42 cm x d.16 cm. Private collection.
