Large Flat Office With Caissons, Burgundy, XVIII Eme Century

Important flat walnut desk dating from the mid-18th century.
coming from Burgundy, this type of office was found quite frequently in the beautiful interiors of bourgeois or stately homes in this beautiful region.
sometimes one met this type of Burgundian desk with a tall body forming a mesh bookcase.
it is made up of two side boxes opening thanks to molded doors with flower beds and revealing interiors with oak drawers. the keys, locks, fittings and hinges are all original.
these boxes are based on straight legs, still recalling the influence of the Regency style.
the interior parts of the central niche intended to sit down and work there are decorated with oak flower bed panels, as are the furniture bottoms because they are intended to be less visible.
the sides of the boxes towards the outside are in walnut with flower beds.
as we are in front of a piece of furniture still under the influence of the Regency style, the crosspieces are straight and only the uprights are molded and scalloped in the mass.
the top is made up of two very beautiful walnut planks, with the molded edge of a slight corbin beak. it is a beautiful blond walnut that has not been attacked by xylophagous insects but a preventive treatment was carried out in the workshop.
we kept the original patina with a wax patina.
There are only a few small restorations of use and minimal maintenance.
This desk is in excellent condition, a very beautiful Louis XV desk in Burgundy walnut, a practical and functional piece of furniture that remains relevant to work there today while offering a decorative and functional aspect.
