Tâs, Chiseled Brass Basin, Iran, From The 19th Century In Very Good Condition

"Tâs" Basin, in chiseled brass on a black bituminous background, with a convex base and convex wall, with incised decorations and traces of inlays. This "Tâs", originally from Iran, dates from the middle of the 19th century.
Our model presents a decoration of fourteen petals with epigraphic decorations and very ornate lattices, the whole of the rest of the body covered with interlacing friezes.
These containers, abundantly decorated with marvelous engravings, were the joy and pride of the collections of the princes of that time and the happiness of collectors of Islamic art today.
