The thistle ("Chardon") was at the origin of the design of this service, created for the exhibition of Nancy in 1908, in the middle of Art Nouveau. Subsequently, Entente Cordiale obliges, Chardon was anglicized to become Thistle and shine on the most beautiful tables, including royal ones.
The manufacture of a single piece calls for a number of skills (glassmaker, chaser, gilder...) in the end more than 30 people joining forces for the sole purpose of achieving excellence... Anyone who likes crystal, and knowing or discovering this model, will know that they have succeeded...
