In 1953, he undertook social studies with a particular focus on the languages of poetry and paint. He studied art and attended the studio of master Jef Van Tuerenhout Ostende (1955-58), then continued his studies as an autodidact. In 1958, he had his first contact with the "Italian Sun": 1200 meters underground in the Waterschei coal mine, where there are many Italian workers; draws under the influence of Henry Moore "The Miner". In 1959, he studied in Spain and was inspired by the works of El Greco; travels to France and studies Matisse. He moved to Ostend. In 1962 in Brussels he was one of the founders of the group "Onderaards" and received numerous prizes and awards. He exhibits in Antwerp at the Galerie Dorekens and in Brussels at the Galerie La Madeline. In the following years, he was present at various exhibitions in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 1966 he had his first contacts with the Pagani Foundation in Legnano; he met and frequented the artists of the Gallery. In 1968, he moved to Italy and the Museum of Ostend added to its collection his work "Maurice de Visser" dedicated to Permeke. He participates in exhibitions in Italy at the Galleria Del Grattacielo and in the International Exhibition of Modern Art at the Pagani Museum in Legnano, in Milan at the Galleria Delle Ore. 1970 He is invited to the "X Design Award" Salone delle Ore in Milan. The intense correspondence with Belgian friends continued and he became involved in the Lumen - Numen group in Brussels. He exhibited at the Galerie La Mineraria in Monza and participated in the "Guill Campo" Prize in Antwerp. In 1973, he contacted the Vignati Art Studio in Parabiago (Milan). Remi de Cnodder writes about it in "De Periscope" and G. Segers in "Avenue" magazine. In 1979, the Bruges Museum bought some of his works and in 1980 he won the gold medal of the Prize of the Provincial Tourism Authority of Milan. Until 1985 he participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad and decided to return to live in Ostend.
