Evino wood (koro) and iron
Height: 67; Wt: 9; Thickness: 9 cm
Wooden statuette of cylindrical shape, finished in an iron point. Her upper limbs are bent, hands resting on her lower abdomen. Its umbilicus is protruding. His face stands out from the body in a long neck. The head is surmounted by a large sagittal crest - specific to male representations, the ears are in relief, as are the eyes.
This statuette was intended to rest on the ground. Its iron point allowed it to hold well. She thus protected the homes and received anointing.
A copy of the wood species certificate established by Les Fils de J. George SAS in January 2021 and sponsored by the Christie's auction house, will be given to the purchaser.
Provenance: Former Mireille and James Lévy collection.
