Large lacquered panel, from Vietnam, from the second half of the 20th century (1950-1980). Black lacquer, gold and red paint. The black background (rather rare) gives a lot of relief to this scene representing villagers in a rice field, with a village in the background. A flute player seated on a water buffalo enhances the work of the villagers. Great finesse of realization, and delicate mastery of the brush. Unsigned.
