First a pupil of his father André Dendal, he completed his training as an autodidact.
He creates expressive and monumental stylized works that tend towards surrealism.
For landscapes, he is often inspired by places visited during frequent trips to Israel, France, Great Britain, which he restores with vivid color contrasts, summarizing the essential.
In 1955, he was part of the artistic movement "JEUNE PEINTURE BELGE" promoted at the initiative of the art critic Robert Delevoy. The critic's project aimed to promote the activity of young artists in the field of painting and sculpture. The group was mainly composed of avant-garde artists active in Belgium between 1945 and 1948. The movement's most important exhibition took place in 1947 at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels.
Besides Dendal, among its representatives are cited: Gaston Bertand, Anne Bonnet, Louis Van Lint and René Barbaix.
In the 1970s he worked using newsprint as a medium.
