A man and his donkey climbing the hill towards the village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, oil on canvas signed lower right L. Prieur, for Louis Charles Dominique Prieur. Golden baguettes and canvas marie-louise frame. Dimensions of the painting, 50x61 cm Total dimensions, with frame, 66x77 cm Louis Charles Dominique Prieur, born August 13, 1887 in By-Thomery (Seine-et-Marne). He was trained at the Académie Julian, a pupil of Eugène Montezin, Henri Royer, Paul Gervais, and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He then settled in Brittany and then from 1936 on the banks of the Loire. He exhibited in Paris, at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1914. Member outside the competition. He obtained a mention in 1924, a silver medal in 1925, a gold medal in 1934. Referenced Benezit.
