Charming little oil on poplar panel representing a farmyard, animated by a farmer feeding her farmyard. Work bearing on the back the mention in ink: Decamps by C. Hugot. The artist was probably inspired by a painting by Alexandre Charles Decamps (1803 - 1860) a genre painter who represented popular circles in his first period. Edouard Charles Hugot, genre painter born in Coulanges-la-Vineuse in 1815, pupil of T. Couture, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1835 to 1880. He died in Villiers-le-bel in 1886. French School circa 1840-1850. Old frame in gilded and black lacquered wood. Frame: 27 cm x 21 cm. Panel: 20 cm x 15 cm.
