"Pair Of Large Porphyry And Gilt Bronze Basins Napoleon III Period XIX"
Pair of large basins in black porphyry and gilded bronze Louis XV nineteenth style. The porphyry basins are supported by two draped puttis clinging to delicately chiseled vine branches wrapping around their beaded and leafy support, the puttis' gait gives the impression that they are in motion, they are resting on a Rococo style plinth richly chiseled with foliage and foliage forming three small feet. Original gilding with double mercury patina in very good condition. Cleaned by our workshop, which allowed us to notice that the letters NN were engraved in several places, we report some slight signs of wear on a base. Egyptian imperial black porphyry basins in very good condition (old restorations). Work in the style of the eighteenth of a remarkable finesse of the Napoleón III period.
