"Fireback With The Le Féron Family Coat Of Arms"
Fireback dating from the beginning of the 18th century with the arms of the Le Féron family which could be attributed to several members of this family, including: - Jerome II Le Féron d'Orville (1641-1727), Lord of Orville and Louvres -en-Parisis, adviser then sub-dean (1727) at the Parliament of Paris. - Nicolas Le Féron d'Orville (1681-1742), Lord of Louvres-en-Parisis, Savigny and Orville honorary president of the Parliament of Paris (1732). The origins of the Le Féron family date back to the 13th century, with Bernard Le Féron, a squire from Alsace who put himself at the service of King Philippe II Augustus (1165-1223), seventh king of the Capetian dynasty. He commanded a company of arms in Bouvines, knighted in 1214, he settled shortly after in Compiègne. Blazon: Gules a saltire of gold confined to 1 and 4 of a dial, to 2 and 3 of an eaglet, all gold. The coat of arms in a cartouche adorned with falling flowers and foliage is surmounted by a crown of a marquis, an astonishing head of a satyr is placed under this coat of arms. Its weight is 30 kg.
