He was trained at the Académie Julian, a pupil of Eugène Montezin, Henri Royer, Paul Gervais, and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He then settled in Brittany and then from 1936 on the banks of the Loire. He exhibited in Paris, at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1914. Member outside the competition.
