Dora Maar study at the Fine Arts and Decorative Arts school, it was in André Lhote's studio that she met Henri Cartier-Bresson and made her artistic debut as a photographer. In 1935 during the shooting of the film "Le Crime de Monsieur Lange", as still photographer, Paul Eluard introduced her to Picasso with whom she had a relationship until 1943. From then on, she began a career as a figurative painter; A Long depression following his breakup led him to the abstract painting of landscapes of Ménerbes. His house in Ménerbes in the Vaucluse region is now a museum.
