Officer's saber of the dragoons, model 1750, hilt with the fleur-de-lis.
France 18th century
Steel, brass
Total length : 104,5cm - Blade length : 86,5cm


Guard with main branch in arc of circle, with a secondary branch decorated with a fleur de lys and pontat. Faceted pommel with rivet button. Brass filigree handle.
Blade fine, with broad back with apparent engraving: Long live the R... and the arms of France. In all its length (corrosion)

Provenance : Former collection of Christian BLONDIAU. This sword is represented in his book : Sabres Français 1680-1814, published by Le Képi Rouge, page 83.
