"Hanging Piece For Châtelaine, Long Chain, Sterling Silver, Early 19thc"
Nice model of hanging piece (called clavet in French) for chatelaine. In the shape of a stylized lyre, it is engraved with foliage of leaves, and fit with a long lobster chain, all in silver. Marked well on each face, on one side the diamond master's mark "DF", on the other the title hallmark, "Vieillard " 1819-1838.
French working, dating from the first part of the 19th century, antique item, guaranteed genuine.
Dimensions: 8cm x 1.5cm at the widest. Length with chain: 78cm. Total weight: 64.5g
Excellent condition, no break or flaw, the item will however have to be cleaned ..
