"Pair Of Candlesticks , Dole, 1759, Joseph Opinel, Sterling Silver"
Very elegant pair of candlesticks known as "with sides" in solid silver with the hallmark of the city of Dôle and the master silversmith Joseph Opinel, of which a mustard pot from the same year is kept by the Metropolitan Museum in New York. They bear the date letter T crowned for the year 1759. With their height of 21 cm they could be classified as office candlesticks or toilet candlesticks. Rather heavy for their size, they weigh 924 grams.
They are booth engraved with a coat of arms and count's coronet of the first owner.
