HISTORICAL PAINTING, THE PANTHEON OF WAR, PANORAMA, PAINTED BY A TEAM OF ARTISTS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF CARRIER BELLEUSE AND AUGUSTE FRANCOIS GORGUET, GROUPING CIVIL AND MILITARY HEROES OF WWI. IT WAS INAUGURATED IN 1918 BY RAYMOND POINCARÉ, PRESIDENT OF THE FRENCH REPUBLIC. National groups of personalities from allied nations lined the table on each side, four European allies (UK, Belgium, Italy, Portugal) on one side and 19 others (including the US, Greece, Latin America , Serbia, Montenegro, Tsarist Russia, Romania and Japan) on the other hand. The characters were mostly men, but also a few nurses, nuns and spies, such as Edith Cavell, Louise de Bettignies and Émilienne Moreau.
