18th Century Italy: Curious Needle Gouache, Stippled Paper

Charming view of Austrian Italy in the 18th century, animated by numerous characters, monuments, distant views, the entrance of harbour.
It is painted with Tempera on a strong paper, and pierced with a thousand pin strokes which give it a slight embossing in relief, with a charming pointillist aspect .... See the back of the work, c ' is amazing.
The pretty view is nested in a window frame under glass, trimmed with silk velvet, which gives it depth, circa 1960, by the New York framer Heydenrick. A rare object of virtue, beautiful and curious.
Gouache has not been touched, it is free in its casing. The sky is a little washed out, no fault.
