Oil on canvas depicting a Limousin countryside landscape with a small path crossing it. Very beautiful colors and nice perspective. This painting is sold with a gilded frame decorated with a marie-louise. It is signed lower left L. Peyrat. Dimensions: frame 46 cm X 53.5 cm canvas: 38 cm X 46 cm Louis Peyrat (1911-1999): French painter born November 30, 1911 at La Gorceix in Saint Germain Les Belles, near Limoges (87). He apprenticed in carpentry, at the same time, he studied by correspondence at the universal school, received his competitive examination, he worked in an architectural firm in Limoges. For his leisure, he attended the School of Decorative Arts in Limoges, then from 1934 he devoted himself to painting. In 1948 he exhibited at the Magadoux gallery in Limoges, then in Royan and in many other galleries. From 1958, he painted views of Paris, and particularly of Montmartre, which made his success. He has access to the very famous Cercle Volney and to Parisian galleries such as the Roussard gallery. His paintings will be exhibited next to those of Degas, Derain, Domergue, buffet, Braque, Picasso, Foujita, Utrillo, Laurencin etc ... until 1969, year from which he will stop painting following complications caused by a traffic accident suffered a few years beforehand (1963). His success will allow him to live comfortably until his death on March 13, 1999 at Martoulet in Saint-Germain-Les-Belles (87).
