Exceptional painting representing the bay of St. Therese in Oran in Algeria, by the great painter Daniel Cortes Perez, Spanish artist specializing in Orientalism, (1873.1919) began in Valencia in the studio of Joachim Sorolla, continued his training in Madrid before studying in Roybet's studio in Paris for 5 years. He discovered the work of the orientalist painter also Benjamin Constant (1845.1902). He traveled to Morocco and Algeria and arrived in Oran in 1901. He gained growing success at the Paris Salon and was entrusted with the decoration of the large ceiling of the Opera of Oran. He will also exhibit in Algiers and London. And will return at the end of his life to Spain his country of origin! Here we have a grandiose oil by its pictorial quality, its format, its colors and on the horizon this Oran coast.
