The painter Galien-Laloue was raised by Léon Germain Pelouse. And he painted a large number of watercolors and gouaches representing the capital of France. His works of small formats let appear the Parisian streets, and the atmospheres thanks to the rigor and the numerous details which he paints.
He exhibited very regularly from 1877 onwards at the Salon des artistes français, and thus enjoyed a certain reputation during his period of activity.
He also painted many seascapes, with the same lively and meticulous touch that we know him for.
He painted under different pseudonyms, all of them very well known, such as Liévin or Dupuy.
