* The Gard or Gardon, a tributary of the Rhône, crosses the town from west to east. The famous Gardon gorges are located just upstream (to the west) of Collias: the Gard enters the town at an altitude of 30m and comes out at around 24m; up to Collias, the two banks of the Gard are dominated by imposing cliffs 130 to 150 m high. On the town, it receives its tributary Alzon on the left bank, which comes from the north-west. Its right bank is interspersed with five deep valleys, carved by small seasonal tributaries.
