"Lithograph By Perrot: Swedish Trois-mats"
Born in 1808, Ferdinand Perrot spent his childhood in Brest and then in Paris was the pupil of Théodore Gudin, the first official painter of the French Navy. He made many trips to Brittany, Normandy, north and south of France as well as England and Italy in 1837. At the beginning of 1840 he received an invitation from Tsar Nicolas I to come to Saint Petersburg for important work. . After his admission to the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg on September 29, 1840, he continued to produce until his death there in 1841.
