"Art Deco Sculpture Lamp Georges Henri Tribout (1884-1962)"
Patinated bronze Art Deco table lamp depicting a seated naked woman holding a plaster cone. Signed on its base "G. Tribout" Georges Henri TRIBOUT (1884-1962) Born in Paris in 1884. He studied at the University of Notre-Dame de Boulogne. Tribout attended the Académie Julian in 1904-1905. He began to paint in the cubist style and exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants in 1909, he showed a portrait of his friend Emile Verhauey. At the time, he was living in Saint Cloud and was friends with Ensor, Montald and Stephen Zweig, who all advised him on his painting. During World War I he was with Forain, Guiraud de Scevoia and many other “camouflage” artists in the French army. After the war, he painted landscapes and portraits and exhibited at the Galerie Alligons in Paris, his works are permanently exhibited there. Tribout was included in ceramic exhibitions at L'Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in 1925, in Paris. At that time, Tribout also designed posters, theatrical costumes and ceramics. The Manufacture de Sèvres produced some of its ceramics.
