"'pichaq' Dagger"
An Ottoman bichaq knife probably made in the Balkans or Greece. The smaller version of the yatagan. The ivory hilt is conical shaped. Nice silver work on the ferrule and ricasso. The blade is forged of pattern welded damascus steel and the scabbard decorated with silver repousse work of scroll patterns and foliage. No markings or inscriptions. Condition is good with some wear to the repousse work and an old restoration the chape of the scabbard. length knife 33,5cm. 250grams. Blade thickness 3mm
