"Grand Marine, Dutch School, Harbour Scene With Sailing Boats, Circa 1900"
Very large navy from the very beginning of the 20th century representing a Dutch port scene in the 1900s. This beautiful and large painting is signed JH Deveren. The artist represented a scene in which everything calls for calm and serenity. Small boats flying the Dutch flag are moored in front of a fishing village above which dominates a windmill. In the distance, other boats are sailing peacefully on a calm sea. Only the somewhat tormented aspect of the sky contrasts with the atmosphere of serenity that emanates from the scene. Our painting is presented in a very imposing wooden frame and richly molded stucco. It is lacquered in shades of bluish gray and rechampi in gold color. The color of the frame harmonizes perfectly with the painting. The whole is in good condition, only a very small lack is to be noted on a rear corner of the frame, it is not visible from the front. Canvas dimensions only: 90cm x 76cm Frame depth: 12cm Molding thickness 16cm
