GERARD JEAN GALLE 1788 -1846 SUCCESSED TO HIS FATHER IN 1815 IN THE VERY PROSPEROUS FAMILY BUSINESS DURING THE PERIOD OF THE EMPIRE WITH UP TO 400 EMPLOYEES.
ALTHOUGH HE RECEIVED SEVERAL AWARDS FOR THE WORK OF HIS GOLDEN BRONZES, HE FOUND NO SUPPORT FOR THE NEW REGIME AND FOUND GREAT FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE;

MAJESTIC PENDULUM IN PURE WHITE THASSOS MARBLE, RICHLY DECORATED WITH ORMULUS BRONZE PATTERNS THE PENDULUM IS TOOFFED BY A SYMBOLIC SCULPTURE OF A RANGE BROWN PATINA CONTRASTING WITH GOLDEN BRONZE PATINA SERRENT WITH AN ENORILUS. THE BRONZE IS SIGNED AND DATED 1819 ON THE ROCK, RIGHT SIDE
ONE OF HIS WORKS IS AT THE GETTY MUSEUM OF LOS ANGELES
